چکیده
Abstract In this paper the hot working behaviour of medium carbon duplex cast steel is studied using uniaxial compression tests over a temperature range varying from 700 ?C to 1 000 °C and at different strain rates ranging 10– 4 10 –1 s . A model based on variant dynamic materials was employed construct processing maps. These maps delineate safe unsafe domains. The domains, associated with recrystallization recovery, can be chosen optimize workability material. Whereas, domain avoided because it plastic deformation instabilities. centred 1000 –4 peak energy dissipation efficiency about 40%, while recovery 27%. domain, spread entire moderate high rates, predicts appearance flow instabilities, in form shear bands intergranular cracks. To validate obtained results, microstructural observations corresponding conditions are presented.

متن کاملEffect of Thermomechanical Processing on the Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of a Duplex Stainless Steel
Duplex stainless steels (DSSS) have a microstructure composed of ferrite and austenite phases that gives them a very good combination of mechanical and corrosion properties. These steels are desirable for many applications in the chemical and petrochemical industries. In the present study, a type of stainless steel was cast, solution annealed at 1200°C for 60 min and then quenched in water. Ini...

The hot deformation behavior of a typical martensitic stainless steel containing 2.1% Ni was investigated by means of the compression test in the strain rate range of 0.001-1 s-1 and temperature range of 950-1150 °C. The flow behavior of the steel was evaluated using the flow stress curves and flow softening map and by microstructural investigation. Taking into account of the strain effect on t...

The main objective of this project was to investigate the behavior and the damaging effects of hot tear segregations in the continuously cast steel blooms on the final product quality. To achieve this aim, plant data from three different types of steels were used. Investigations using the scanning electron microscope (SEM) equipped with energy dispersive x-ray spectroscopy (EDS) probe and metal...

Abstract: mechanical properties of AISIH 13 hot-work tool steel have been studied. Cast samples made of the modified new steel were homogenized and austenitized at different conditions, followed by tempering at the specified temperature ranges. Hardness, red hardness, three point bending test and Charpy impact test were carried out to evaluate the mechanical properties together with characteriz...
